ITEMS NEEDED FOR DONATION
If possible, troops have requested small, travel-sized unscented items.
Please, no chocolate or homemade baked goods.

- Snack Foods, including cookies and candy
- Clif Bars
- Gum
- Cigars
- Joey Wipes, available online. These are a favorite!! www.guyandoneill.com/joey/products.htm
- Shaving equipment. Make sure the shaving cream isn't in an aerosol can. Send shaving gel instead. (Update: shaving cream is preferred to shaving gel, since the gel clogs up and becomes unusable., Alba Botanical, and Tom's Of Maine all make shaving cream that come in tubes with screw caps, like lotion or sunscreen comes in. It is said to last a long time, and comes in fragrance-free - recommended so as not to attract bugs). Disposable double-blade razors are also good to send.
- Crystal Light and similar products. Products with Splenda (sucralose) are supposed to be better than those with aspartame.
- Hand sanitizer. Smaller containers are preferred.
- Tobacco products (they can’t buy this over there).
- Batteries, especially D's, AA's and AAA’s.
- Ziploc bags, gallon or larger. Preferably Heavy-duty (Freezer bags), so they can re-use them.
- Anything that's a stereotypical "guy" magazine - Guns & Ammo, hunting, fishing, and hot rods. PLEASE, no current affairs/news magazines, like Time, Newsweek, or US News & World Report.
- Stationery supplies - paper, envelopes, pens. LOTS of it. He/she might want to share with his/her unit. They don't need stamps.
- Hard candy. Chocolate is dehydrating, and it will melt and make a mess. Gum may also melt, so if you send it, pre-pack it in a Ziploc bag. The soldiers who come into contact with local kids are handing it out to them, so send lots.
- Pictures - they'll make him/her feel like a part of your family. You could also send pictures of where you live/local scenery.
- Homemade cards, handwritten letters, pictures drawn by your kids (if you have them).
- CDs or DVDs.
- Books, paperback.
- Disposable cameras.
- Beef jerky. Be sure it's BEEF, though, since pork products are not permitted in the Middle East.
- Small packages of ground coffee, instant hot chocolate or instant espresso powder (again, put the powder in a Ziploceasier to transport)
- Word games like crossword puzzles, anagrams, word search games, etc.
- Nuts, sunflower seeds, trail mix, crackers, fruit snacks/Roll-ups
- Quaker instant oatmeal packets.
- Waterproof sunscreen sealed in a Ziploc bag. Aloe Vera lotion is good, too - the heat is brutal!
- Powdered coffee creamer.
- Dental floss. (travel size)
- Deodorant (unscented)
- Lotion. Remember, keep the bottles small, and put them in a plastic Ziploc bag before packing them.
- Throat lozenges, eye drops, lip balm, Pain relievers like Tylenol, Aspirin, Motrin, etc.
- Jock itch powder or Foot powder. Again, remember to pre-pack it in a Ziploc bag.
- Moleskin and boot insoles for sore feet.
- Prepaid phone cards.
- Meal replacement drinks that are high in protein. Look for the kinds that come in lightweight bottles instead of cans. Protein bars are also good (non-chocolate).
